Dr. Digester Biological Services is an integrated division of Yield Energy Inc. which focuses on providing a world class Preventative, maintenance & biogas optimization service to Anaerobic Digester facilities across North America. This service ensures that a client’s digester is performing at its maximum efficiency level thus reducing capital and operating costs and maximising profitability.

The Dr. Digester service includes:

  • Plant design and/or component integration to existing AD facilities
  • Complete feedstock and digestate management which includes:
    • Physical composition analysis
      • Determining contaminants (egg shell, bones, metal, plastic, wood and glass content)
    • Chemical composition analysis
      • Carbohydrates, fats, proteins and total solids
  • BioTip: Biological Process Simulation
    • This simulation concurrently models all anaerobic digestion phases until the system achieves steady state or fails
    • The process calculates:
      • Biogas yield
      • Methane yield
      • Concentration of organic acids
      • PH levels
      • Digester buffer capacity
      • Bacterial concentrations and growth rates
  • Mass Balance Calculation
    • These calculations are fed by the data from feedstock analysis, simulation results and engineering parameters which include:
      • Total substrates

      • Diluting water
      • Waste water
      • Contaminants (floating and sinking)
      • Digestate (solid and liquid)
      • Composition, quality and mass of biogas
  • Supplement formulation and manufacture
